Pemberton 08

I recently attended the first annual Pemberton music festival. It was a three day event with tons of acts, such as: Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty, Tragically Hip, NERD, Coldplay, and of course, JAY-Z! I, however, only purchased the sunday ticket, which was the day NERD, Jay-z and Coldplay were performing.

The first act we saw was NERD, who brought more energy to the crowd than I've ever seen from a hip-hop show. There were people moshing, crowd surfing and all kinds craziness you would expect from a rock concert.

Then after a rather boring set from Death Cab for Cutie, me and my friend Sana crept as close to the front as we could. After a while of suffocating in the crowd, Hova took the stage! I can definitely say it was worth the money!! He put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. To begin with, he had a full band! He did almost every hit single since Vol 2. THATS RIGHT, HE SANG HARDKNOCK LIFE! The crowd response was incredible too, after his first song, he just stood center stage while 40 thousand people threw up the dynasty sign and chanted "HOVA HOVA".

Here are few pictures, and footage from the event. Note the 5 minutes Jay-Z takes to connect with the crowd.

For your listening pleasure...

Now that I got my imeem account working...here's some beats from the last few months. Enjoy!

Interview with Ryan Leslie on HipHopDX

A pretty good interview with one of my favourite artists/producers/writers/entertainers/entrepeneurs.

The Blueprint 3 is coming!!!

Here is a Kanye-produced track that may be on Jay-Z's next album, The Blueprint 3! Also, here's another Hov track produced by Timbaland (the no DJ version). I first heard this song back in January, I think. There's been rumours that this might be the first leaked song from the album, but in an interview with Timbo, he said it was a song that wasn't finished in time for his album Shock Value. Either way it's a dope track.
