Asher Roth

Hate him or love him, Asher Roth has a style of his own. He kinda came out of nowhere and gathered some unwanted attention.. but after listening to I love college a few times... I have to admit.. I actually like the song. It's definitely not the greatest song... some parts dont even rhyme... but maybe having gone to University makes this song closer to home for me. I don't know. I also came across a satirical take on Roc Boys, called Roth Boys. It's pretty rediculous, definitely worth a watch.

Time isn't wasted when your getting wasted

I appologize for not posting the music video for I Love College, they disabled embedding.

ORIGINAL SUNDAYS #2

Whatup Y'all, I know it's been a few weeks since I posted the first original sunday, but my computer crashed the week after so I had to put the posts on hold until I got my computer set up again.

For those of you who don't know what this is and aren't familiar with the concept of sampling, almost any current song you've listened to has probably been sampled from an older track. I have started collecting some of these original samples and every week I will be choosing a handful of my favorites and posting them up for everyone to download.

Ill-Doctrine on Race and Asher Roth

Ill-doctrine is back with a topic concerning a racial comment posted on Asher Roth's Twitter. Now I personally think Asher Roth is an idiot already... But he proves it convincingly with a racist twitter comment meant to mimic Don Imus by saying something about "nappy headed hoes". He also criticizes black rappers for being too materialistic without provided enough support for Africa. I really don't know what he's trying to prove... maybe hes just stirring up controversy to keep his name on peoples blogs.... (I guess its working). Anyways.. the video is an interesting break down of the topic at hand

Dont't Put It In Your Mouth

I was sent the following youtube link from a friend the other day. It's one of those kid commercials that are supposed to give children advice about what not to do... like don't talk to strangers, etc. Anyways this one is about not putting things in your mouth. It reminded me of the Akinyele song that suggested quite the opposite. I remember this Akinyele joint from high school, it used to be played at every house party, and even the girls would get down to it. Anyways... doesn't it kinda sound like Akinyele sampled his hook from concerned children's advertisers? Please be warned that Akinyele is a rather raunchy rapper.
